Notes on final rough drafts
Caroline Thanks for suggestions. I took them all except for shibboleth I think (if it's a word the New York Times uses I usually keep it is the rule I play by and I couldn't think of something better. plus it's a cool word)
and the double negative in the first sentence I kept (tested some other folks on it and the vote was "not confusing" by 3-1. Again, got lazy and couldn't think of a better way to say it.)
there are some pretty major changes, reworkings, based on interviews I did this week--sorry to spring this on you, but I think the thing is much better now.
